Herodium — 3D glass painting by Jean-Pierre Weill

Herodium: Set Your Sights High and Create the Life You Dream Of

King Herod wanted to see Jerusalem from his palace. So he built a mountain.

That is not a metaphor. The Herodium, rising from the Judean desert south of Jerusalem, is a man-made mountain with a fortress on top. Herod looked at the landscape and made it taller.

    The Work

Herodium is a 3D painting on glass from Jean-Pierre Weill Studios. A colorful village sits at the foot of the hill, small figures and trees in pinks and yellows, the mountain rising above them in warm browns and reds, dotted with flowers. An orange sun hangs in a blue sky. Birds cross above it all. Built in layers behind the glass, the scene has the warmth of a place that has been loved for a very long time.

    Why Herodium

The Herodium is one of Israel's most extraordinary archaeological sites and one of its least told stories outside the region. A king who refused to accept the horizon he was given. A mountain that didn't exist until he decided it should. There is something in that worth putting on a wall.

    A Meaningful Israeli Gift

Herodium works as a gift for anyone with a connection to Israel, a love of history, or simply a need for a reminder that the life you want is something you build. Israeli art that carries a real story.

Collectors drawn to the depth of Herodium may also find that quality in Jerusalem Prayer, where letters float in the air around the Heavenly Temple we build through acts of kindness, and in Western Wall, where generations of longing are held in the embrace of ancient stone.
