Making time for someone is an act. It means rearranging things, showing up, being present when you could easily have not been. Jean-Pierre Weill painted that act.
Rendezvous is a 3D painting on glass from Jean-Pierre Weill Studios. A man climbs up a ladder toward a woman standing at a window, a brick wall behind them, a vine, the space between them almost closed. Built in layers behind the glass, the scene is intimate and slightly playful, the courtyard opening up as you look into it. The visual message: we honor our willingness to go out of our way to spend time with those we love. Ourselves included.
That last line is the one worth stopping on. Going out of your way for yourself: making the reservation, taking the afternoon, showing up for your own life. Rendezvous works as a reminder of that too.
Rendezvous works as a romantic gift, a friendship gift, or original handmade wall art for anyone who understands that time is the real thing we give each other.
Collectors drawn to the tenderness of Rendezvous may also find that quality in Moonlight Dance, where a couple dances in a forest path and the moon shines just for them, and in Beginnings, where two figures walk together beneath heart-shaped leaves and everything is still possible.
