STORY

Inspired by Jean-Pierre Weill’s childhood memories of Paris, Café des Fleurs captures a corner coffee shop filled with light, just as a young girl cycles around the corner, a balloon tightly clenched in her fist. Two birds flutter around the cafe on this quiet spring day, lush with delicate flowers spilling over the windowsills. A bottle of wine stands ready for some happy couple to share, enjoying each others company, perhaps celebrating a special event. This painting draws the viewer in, from the street, up to the sidewalk, and through the glass doors of Café des Fleurs.

This was my second purchase. My first one was a gift for my sister so I didn’t get to see it because it was shipped to her directly. She loved it and so I felt confident to purchase a larger piece for myself. Davida was a pleasure to communicate with and went out of her way to mat and frame the piece for me. The package arrived quickly and safely. I couldn’t wait to get it out of the crate. I was so pleased and excited to finally see it in person. It’s truly beautiful and the 3D effect is amazing. We want to find the perfect place to display it and then we will hang it and properly light it. This painting even exceeded my expectations and so I would like to share some experiences with the studio from the past few years. After I had already experienced the 3D effect of paintings and wall sculptures by other artists, my discovery of the works of Jean Pierre in 2017 was love at first sight. The bright colors combined with the play of light and shadow quickly fascinated me. It was immediately clear to me that I wanted to add his works to my art collection. The first contact confirmed my good first impression. I had never experienced the opportunity to communicate directly with an artist's studio, or the unexpected offer to even include personalized elements in the paintings. As a customer, you are faced with the difficult task of making a selection from the wide range of sizes, motifs and different frames. It is also important to consider finding suitable spots in your home to place the works. After some thought, I chose a painting from the Grand Collection. Due to the excellent packaging, the painting arrived safely in Germany within a few days. Meanwhile I own paintings from various of Jean Pierre's collections and I can warmly recommend his works. A big thank you to Davida and the whole family studio with its very personal customer service.
